Categorías económicas, prácticas sociales y percepciones en el mundo rural castellano (Siglos XIV-XV); Economic categories, social practices and perceptions in the Castillian rural (XIV-XV)
The categories of ownership, possession and work in rural Castilian take a practical dimension that can only be understood from the study of the natural conditions imposed on agents. The perceptions are recognized in the area that we investigated in the late Medieval period refer, therefore, to ways of structuring the dynamics of production that matter the appropriation of resources, in particular the effective disposal of the principal means of production that is land. On this particular issue, said E. P. Thompson that the peasant "furiously was not (assume) that had their land, which was his. What he inherited was a place in the hierarchy of water rights. "This hierarchy of rights, on which the political will to regulate the active involvement of multiple interests and ensure that cross the universe of villages and towns, is subject to a subsistence logic that runs and determines the various productive activities that support reproduction of the tributaries, while possible to maintain the various branches of power in the Castilian royal area in the centuries cut in this collaboration.

AIMS: The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of the administration of microencapsulated Lactobacillus plantarum CRL 1815 with two combinations of microbially derived polysaccharides, xanthan : gellan gum (1%:0·75%) and jamilan : gellan gum (1%:1%), on the rat faecal microbiota.
METHODS AND RESULTS: A 10-day feeding study was performed for each polymer combination in groups of 16 rats fed either with placebo capsules, free or encapsulated Lact. plantarum or water. The composition of the faecal microbiota was analysed by fluorescence in situ hybridization and temporal temperature gradient gel electrophoresis. Degradation of placebo capsules was detected, with increased levels of polysaccharide-degrading bacteria. Xanthan : gellan gum capsules were shown to reduce the Bifidobacterium population and increase the Clostridium histolyticum group levels, but not jamilan : gellan gum capsules. Only after administration of jamilan : gellan gum-probiotic capsules was detected a significant increase in Lactobacillus-Enterococcus group levels compared to controls (capsules and probiotic) as well as two bands were identified as Lact. plantarum in two profiles of ileum samples.
CONCLUSIONS: Exopolysaccharides constitute an interesting approach for colon-targeted delivery of probiotics, where jamilan : gellan gum capsules present better biocompatibility and promising results as a probiotic carrier.
SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF STUDY: This study introduces and highlights the importance of biological compatibility in the encapsulating material election, as they can modulate the gut microbiota by themselves, and the use of bacterial exopolysaccharides as a powerful source of new targeted-delivery coating material.

Bacteriocins are antimicrobial peptides with potential applications as therapeutic agents for the treatment of microbial infections. The aim of this work was to investigate the effect of different protectors on the activity of salivaricin CRL1328, a bacteriocin produced by Lactobacillus salivarius CRL1328, during the lyophilization process and subsequent storage at different temperatures for 18 months using statistical models. Different protectors such as mannitol, Tween 80, polyethylene glycol 8000 (PEG), monosodium glutamate (MSG), reconstituted skim milk, sucrose and ascorbic acid were used for the lyophilization and storage of salivaricin. The biplot of principal component analysis was used for the interpretation of the interactions between the different factors studied. The antimicrobial activity of salivaricin was dependent mainly on temperature, and also on the time of storage and protector assayed. The stability of salivaricin was higher at -20°C and 4°C than 25°C and decreased during the time of storage; however, salivaricin was active after 18 months of storage at 25°C. Sucrose, mannitol plus sucrose, PEG plus sucrose and MSG were the most effective agents in protecting the bacteriocin during the lyophilization process. Effective maintenance of the activity of the bacteriocin was observed by storage with sucrose and ascorbic acid at –20°C as well as with PEG plus sucrose at 4°C and –20°C. The results obtained suggest that sucrose alone or combined with PEG can effectively maintain the activity of salivaricin during lyophilization and storage. This study provides useful information for the potential application of salivaricin as a bioactive principle for a pharmaceutical formulation.
Effects of chlorocholine chloride and paclobutrazol on cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz cv. Rocha) plant growth and tuberous root quality
Effects of chlorocholine chloride and paclobutrazol on cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz cv. Rocha)
Medina, Ricardo Daniel; Burgos, A.; Difranco, V.; Mroginski, Luis Amado; Cenóz, P.
The effects of chlorocholine chloride (CCC) and paclobutrazol (PBZ) foliar application on shoot and root parameters of cassava field-grown plants were studied (0, 45 and 90 mg active ingredient per plant). CCC and PBZ reduced total plant and first branch height, aerial fresh mass and tuberous root number. PBZ delayed branching and significantly decreased tuberous root fresh mass, while CCC caused no modifications in these parameters. In addition, CCC and PBZ treatments did not modify tuberous root diameter, while PBZ reduced tuberous root length significantly. Starch content was increased by both growth regulators at the lower dose, whereas dry matter content was increased only by CCC. In conclusion, CCC suppresses excessive vegetative growth, favours quality attributes and does not alter yield, hence improving harvest index. Although PBZ at a low dose increases the starch content and harvest index, its effects on other parameters are undesirable.
The emergence and decline of absenteeism as a problem for the government of the working population (Argentine, XX century)
Haidar, Victoria
However, this deletion does not correspond to what happens in the plane of labour's world practices, or, either, with statements from the political discourse; areas where absenteeism is still an object of concern. Faced with these contradictions, this article explores the problematization of absenteeism during the XX century in Argentine, analyzing, from a historical perspective, a series of discourses. After exhuming the conditions that, over the century, made possible both the emergence of absenteeism as a problem, as its decline, it recalls the reflections and interventions that, in the present, referring to absenteeism, in order to show its continuity and discontinuity with those strategies and ways of thinking that in other historical periods, were mobilized in order to govern the relationship between attendance at work, health and productivity.

Spoligotyping is the most frequently used method for genotyping isolates of Mycobacterium bovis worldwide. In the current work, we compared spoligotypes from 1684 M. bovis isolates from Argentina (816), Brazil (412), Chile (66), Mexico (274) and Venezuela (116), obtained from cattle, humans, pigs, wild boars, farmed deer, goats, buffaloes, cats, and wild animals. A total of 269 different spoligotypes were found: 142 (8.4%) isolates presented orphan spoligotypes, whereas 1542 (91.6%) formed 113 different clusters. In cattle, SB0140 was the most representative spoligotype with 355 (24.6%) isolates, followed by SB0121 with 149 (10.3%) isolates. Clustering of spoligotypes ranged from 95.2% in Argentina to 85.3% in Mexico. Orphan spoligotypes were also variable, ranging from 23.7% in Mexico to 4.1% in Brazil. A large proportion of spoligotypes were common to the neighboring countries Argentina, Brazil and Chile. In conclusion, despite the diversity of spoligotypes found in the five countries studied, there are major patterns that predominate in these neighboring countries. These clusters may reflect a long-lasting active transmission of bovine tuberculosis or common historical origins of infection.
Seguridad social latinoamericana: nuevos derechos, nueva economía, ¿nueva democracia?
Seguridad social latinoamericana: nuevos derechos, nueva economía, ¿nueva democracia?

The Sierra Norte-Ambargasta batholith is one of the largest plutonic expressions of the Pampean orogeny in western Argentina. A thorough petrographic, geochemical, isotopic (Sr and Nd) and geochronological (UePb SHRIMP) study is reported. The batholith comprises granitoid rocks that may be subdivided into those affected by Pampean D2 dextral shearing and mylonization and those emplaced after deformation had ceased; representative samples gave UePb zircon ages of 537 4 Ma and 530 4 Ma respectively. The earlier, dominant, group were derived largely from metaluminous calc-alkaline subduction-related magmas, whereas the late granites are peraluminous. However, all have relatively high initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.706 to at least 0.710, strongly negative εNdt values (1.7 to 5.9) and, in some cases inherited 600 Ma and 970 Ma zircon, similar to the isotopic and zircon provenance seen in the metamorphic host rocks. A high degree of contamination of the magmas, possibly anatexis in the case of the post-mylonite granite, is related to emplacement during the latestage transpressional docking of the Pampean terrane against the Rio de la Plata craton. The absence of detrital zircon derived from the craton in either the Pampean metasedimentary host rocks or the batholith supports this collisional model for the Pampean orogen.
Integrated sliding-mode algorithms in robot tracking applications
Integrated sliding-mode algorithms in robot tracking applications
Gracia, Luis; Garelli, Fabricio; Sala, Antonio
An integrated solution based on sliding mode ideas is proposed for robotic trajectory tracking. The proposal includes three sliding-mode algorithms for speed auto-regulation, path conditioning and redundancy resolution in order to fulfill velocity, workspace and C-space constraints, respectively. The proposed method only requires a few program lines and simplifies the robot user interface since it directly deals with the fulfillment of the constraints to find a feasible solution for the robot trajectory tracking in a short computation time. The proposed approach is evaluated in simulation on the freely accessible 6R robot model PUMA-560, for which the main features of the method are illustrated.
QTL for survival to UV-C radiation in Drosophila melanogaster
QTL for survival to UV-C radiation in Drosophila melanogaster
Gomez, Federico Hernan; Loeschcke, Volker; Norry, Fabian Marcelo
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate tolerance to UV-C (ultraviolet C, 280–100 nm) radiation in Drosophila melanogaster, implementing a quantitative trait locus (QTL) mapping approach. This is of interest to test for genetic variation in survival to UV (ultraviolet) radiation. Materials and methods: We performed a QTL scan in D. melanogaster recombinant inbred lines (RIL) constructed from parental stocks derived from a crossing between northern and southern hemisphere populations that segregated substantial genetic variation in thermal resistance in a previous study. Here, two experimental treatments were implemented: Continuous and cyclic UV-C radiation. Results: Significant QTL were detected on all three major chromosomes. Among these, multiple trait composite interval mapping revealed a significant QTL in the pericentromeric region of chromosome 2, a genome region consistently implicated in thermotolerance in previous studies. Conclusions: This study shows substantial genetic variation for UV-C radiation resistance in D. melanogaster, with QTL for survival to UV-C radiation generally overlapping with major thermotolerance QTL. The genetic architecture of UV-C radiation resistance appears to be more complex in continuously irradiated individuals.

Este trabajo analiza la conformación en Chile, en los primeros años del siglo XX, de sociedades anónimas que explicitaban como objetivo central la intención de comprar tierras a ambos lados de la Cordillera de los Andes para la explotación agroganadera y la comercialización, y estudia específicamente el origen, itinerario y organización productiva de una de esas sociedades en Neuquén.; Neuquen territory, in the north of the Patagonia, attracted the look of diverse investors after from the military advance that realized the national State on the indigenous groups and of the conquest of the lands of the Argentine's south, lands that were offered to individuals in property or lease in very beneficial conditions. This work analyzes the conformation in Chile, in the first years of the 20th century, of joint-stock companies that stated explicitly as central aim the intention of buying lands on both sides of the Mountain chain of the Andes for the agricultural and livestock exploitation and the commercialization, and there studies specifically the origin, itinerary and productive organization of one of these companies in Neuquen.
Development of a PCR assay to detect the potential production of nivalenol in Fusarium poae
Development of a PCR assay to detect the potential production of nivalenol in Fusarium poae
Dinolfo, María Inés; Barros, Germán Gustavo; Stenglein, Sebastian Alberto
Fusarium species can produce mycotoxins, which can contaminate cereal-based food producing adverse effects for human and animal health. In recent years, the importance of Fusarium poae has increased within the Fusarium head blight complex. Fusarium poae is known to produce trichothecenes, especially nivalenol, a potent mycotoxin able to cause a variety of toxic effects. In this study, a specific primer pair was designed based on the tri7 gene to detect potential nivalenol-producing F. poae isolates. A total of 125 F. poae, four F. cerealis, two F. culmorum, one F. langsethiae, one F. sporotrichioides and seven F. graminearum, plus F. austroamericanum, F. meridionale, F. graminearum sensu stricto and F. cortaderiae from the NRRL collection were analysed, and only F. poae isolates gave a positive result for the presence of a 296-bp partial tri7 DNA fragment. Moreover, the primer set was tested from cereal seed samples where F. poae and other Fusarium species with a negative result for the specific reaction (F. graminearum, F. oxysporum, F. chlamydosporum, F. sporotrichioides, F. equiseti and F. acuminatum) were isolated, and the expected fragment was amplified. We developed a rapid and reliable PCR assay to detect potential nivalenol-producing F. poae isolates.

In several regions of Latin America, experiences and perceptions of insecurity have become one of the epicentres for forming representations of the State, social habits and specific forms of the social relation. Based on data produced by a survey and materials gathered through ethnographic research, Territorial Connections and Experiences of Insecurity in States of Uncertain Reliability analyze these processes of configuration in view of the interactive dynamic found in territorial social networks in poor urban areas of Argentina and how the public authorities and episodes of victimization become involved.
The paper covers two parts: The first one (A) deals with the significance of the Sophia’s figure within Gnostic Tradition, its roots in the biblical exegesis of Wisdom, its esoteric symbolism and its reception in regards to the different Gnostic currents and documents, either direct or non-directs. The projection of the symbol concludes with its link to the nucleus of the divinity’s hidden nature itself, accessible through the way of the communitarian love. The second part (B), in close relationship with the first one, tackles the mytical experience’s issue in between the Neoplatonics and the Gnostics. The phenomenology of religion considers the mystical experience as “the fruitful experience of an absolute”. According the Neoplatonic movement, it’s confirmed this rightful assertion from a triple perspective: a) the contemplative Neoplatonism (Plotinus); b) the Gnostics arrive to Plotinus’ school at Rome (Apocallypse of Allógenes –NHC XI, 3); c) the hieratic Neoplatonism gifted by Hermetic and Gnostic influences (Iamblichus of Chalcis, On the Egyptian Mysteries).

This article explores the fixations and movements in an exemplary tale emblematic of the cultural memory in Misiones, Argentina. We emphasize the ambivalences and aporias of this story in the configurations of a narrative identity that connected the origins of Misiones with the genealogy of Argentina. We analyze the rhetorical strategies that in this story created a “homogeneous identity” of this dynamic and mixed semiosphere.

Gas Flow in a Channel Semiobstructed by a Porous Media
Gas Flow in a Channel Semiobstructed by a Porous Media
Dalponte, Diego David; Silin, Nicolas; Clausse, Alejandro
An experimental study of a gas flow in a narrow channel partially obstructed by a regular array of wires is presented. The velocity profile along the channel was measured by means of a hot-wire anemometer, inside and outside the obstructed region. Flow instabilities were found in the free zone adjacent to the porous region, which were characterized by the standard deviation and the power spectrum of the signal of the anemometer. The experimental profiles were compared with numerical simulations using a two-dimensional Lattice Boltzmann model.
